The Garden State Wine Growers Association is proud to host an inaugural meet-and-greet networking event with Women in Wine NJ designed for industry professionals and those who aspire to explore a career in wine at the GSWGA Headquarters on Tuesday, January 10 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
The Women in Wine NJ consists of women within the wine industry, and the group’s mission is to unite and provide an inclusive, dedicated, supportive, and educational community. Each of the current Women of New Jersey wineries comes from varied backgrounds and levels of expertise ranging from behind the vines to business management.
“My purpose behind the development of the Women in Wine NJ group is focused on education and networking,” said Victoria Reader, Founder of the Women in Wine NJ. “I want to educate women on the opportunities in the winemaking industry and provide an inclusive environment for exchanging ideas, networking, and collaboration in the company of fellow wine growers!”
“Hosting an event that allows for networking amongst the state’s women winemakers and wine industry professionals provides an opportunity to meet the talented women of New Jersey’s wine industry,” said Devon, Executive Director of the Garden State Wine Growers Association. “As of 2022, more than 60 wineries and vineyards flourish throughout all corners of New Jersey’s grape-loving acres, and we are thrilled to have these women represent New Jersey wine country with their leadership and expertise.”
Women in Wine NJ was founded in 2021 by Victoria Reader, South Jersey native and Cellar Master and Vineyard Manager at Amalthea Cellars, to create a safe space to exchange ideas, network, collaborate, and promote education by teaching Women in Wine about different aspects of the industry. Known as the Garden State Wine Growers Association’s Women in Wine Caucus internally, the objective of Women in Wine NJ to help women become more aware of the opportunities that exist in the winemaking industry and to empower them to follow their dreams.
